Project Instructions
Step: 1
Wash and dry your t-shirt and fabric in a regular cycle. Don’t use fabric softener. Iron both on a cotton setting.
Step: 2
Prepare the fabric by giving it a light coat of Mod Podge. This will prevent fraying when you cut it.
Step: 3
Choose a design to cut your fabric into. We chose a basic pumpkin shape. Obtain a design from free clip art offered on the internet if you like.
Step: 4
Apply the design to the shirt using the Mod Podge. Be careful not to get the Mod Podge too far around the edges of the design. Allow to dry for 15-20 minutes and then apply a top coat. Allow to dry and apply one final top coat. Allow to dry for at least an hour.
Step: 5
Using the dimensional fabric paint, trace the outside of your design. We also put the paint inside the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkin. Add phrases like “Trick or Treat,” “Eek” and “Boo” in random spots around the shirt.
Step: 6
Go back to the sleeves and cut each one into eight equal strips. Feed each strip through a bead and then tie a knot at the end so that the bead doesn’t fall off.
Step: 7
Allow project to dry for 24 hours before wearing.
