Project Instructions

Step: 1

Find a lidded box to be your shadow box.

Step: 2

Select a pattern from the Garnish specialty paper pad that coordinates with the Shimmer die-cut cardstock. Line the inside of your box with your paper.

Step: 3

Cut your rectangular frame into the box lid.

Step: 4

Wrap and adhere the outside of the box and lid with another paper that coordinates with the contents of your shadow box.

Step: 5

Place your photo in the adhesive photo frames.

Step: 6

Select another piece of paper to mat your photo. Cut the mat so that it includes a ½-inch to ¾-inch border around your photo. With decorative scissors, cut the edge of the mat paper to create zigzag edges.

Step: 7

Adhere the photo to the mat paper.

Step: 8

Using adhesive foam dots, adhere the matted photo to the inside of your shadow box. This will pop the photo up from the back of the shadow box.

Step: 9

Choose flowers from the Shimmer die-cut cardstock and, using the score guides, add dimension to the flowers. Add leaves from the die-cuts.

Step: 10

In the center of the flowers, add rhinestones, pearls or Gem Flowers.

Step: 11

Adhere the die-cut flowers into the shadow box, as you like.

Step: 12

If you choose, you can add acetate, Plexiglas or have glass cut to fit into the front of the box to protect the contents of your handmade shadow box.

Tips

Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer’s instructions for all products used.

Stitching paper is a great way to add texture and dimension.

Use straight-edged scissors to cut unless otherwise indicated.
