Project Instructions

Using paper trimmer, cut red cardstock 5½"x8", fold in half. Cut another piece of red cardstock 3¾"x3½".

Trim pieces of white with red dots printed paper, 4"x5¼" and 2"x2-3/8".

Trim white tag to 4¾".

After reading all manufacturer’s instructions for the Hot Marks, use tape to secure tool stand on glass work surface. Attach Hot Knife Point to Hot Marks. Tighten with pliers. Place Hot Marks on Tool Stand. Plug into electric outlet, press switch “ON”, and let heat for four to five minutes. To make “gift box”, use Hot Knife to cut scrap of white foam core board 2" x 2-3/8".

Use pencil with ruler to measure ¼" from each bottom edge. Draw line from top corners to bottom edges. Cut with Hot Knife point so “gift box” is smaller at the bottom. Use pliers to remove Hot Knife point and drop point into a ceramic dish.

Adhere small piece of dotted paper to “gift box.” Use scissors to trim paper edges. Adhere grosgrain ribbon to backside of “gift box” as shown. Make bow to attach later.

Using pliers, attach Mini Flow Point to Hot Marks. Let Tool heat for a few minutes. Use pencil to lightly write “Happy Birthday” on tag. Use Mini Flow Point to paper burn the letters. Make sure you are working on the glass surface. Use pliers to remove Mini Flow Point and drop Point into a ceramic dish.

Using pliers, attach Star Stamp Point to Hot Marks. Let tool heat for a few minutes. Hot stamp the four stars with the Star Stamp Point on the tag. Make sure you are working on the glass surface. Press switch “OFF.”

To add color to the rose trim piece, use a sponge with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Add red Stickles for a glittery touch to the edges of the roses.

Use Tombow tape runner to attach the layers of paper, tag, “gift box”, rose trim and ribbon bow to front of card. Cut a piece of corrugated cardstock to 5½"x4" with the ridges running vertically. Fold in half. Adhere the photo corners to the inside of the tag.

Tips

Cutting foam core board with the Hot Knife attached to the Hot Marks is like cutting through butter. The instructions call for straight line cuts, but circles or wavy lines are easy to cut also.
Read all manufacturer's instructions found in the Hot Marks packaging.

Craft Notes

Finish all the components before you begin to glue anything onto the Card itself.
