Project Instructions

Step: 1

SIZE
Blanket measures 36-inches x 36-inches.


Step: 2

GAUGE
3 shells = 4½-inches, 4 rows = 3-inches in pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.


Step: 3

ABBREVITIONS
A, B = color A, B
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
mm = millimeters
sc = single crochet
st(s) = stitch (es)
* = repeat whatever follows the * as indicated
[] = work directions in brackets the number of times specified


Step: 4

BLANKET
With A, ch 70.


Step: 5

Row 1 (Right Side): 2 Dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip next 2 ch, (sc, 2 dc) all in next ch; repeat from * to last 3 ch; skip 2 ch, sc in last ch; turn.


Step: 6

Row 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in first sc,* skip 2 dc, (sc, 2 dc) all in next sc; repeat from * to last 3 sts; skip 2 dc, sc in top of turning ch; turn.


Step: 7

Repeat Row 2 for pattern in the following color sequence:


Step: 8

4 rows A, [2 rows B, 4 rows A] twice, 4 rows B, [2 rows A, 4 rows B] twice, 4 rows A, [2 rows B, 4 rows A] twice. Do not fasten off but turn to work Edging:


Step: 9

With right side facing, ch 1, sc evenly spaced around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with a slip st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.


Tips

When changing colors, use the new color to complete the last stitch of the row.
