Project Instructions

Paint the pieces as shown in the photo.

Add a second coat of Splendid Gold to the wheels. Paint the green triangles, hearts and circles with the complementary color of Craft Twinkles glitter paint. Paint the large, Ebony black triangles and the medium teardrops with Black Craft Twinkles glitter paint. Use a paint brush handle dipped into white paint to paint dots on the red XL squares.

Refer to photograph, then assemble the engine. With front side facing up and edges touching, place the large square and the large rectangle on a flat surface. Glue a craft stick across the bottom of both pieces. Let dry.

When dry, turn this piece over. Place the second Santa Red square and Holly Green rectangle on top. DO NOT GLUE! This is for alignment purposes only. Glue a craft stick across the bottom. With front side facing up and edges touching, place the large square and the large rectangle on a flat surface then glue a craft stick across the bottom of both pieces. Let dry then turn this piece over.

Place the second Santa Red square and Hollly Green rectangle on top. DO NOT GLUE! This is for alignment purposes only. Glue a craft stick across the bottom.

Glue one Ebony Black teardrop at the back of the Santa Red square. Glue the second Ebony Black teardrop at the center so the tip is above the top of one Santa Red squae (refer to project photo). Glue the second piece you created in Step 2 on top of this piece.

Glue one large Ebony Black triangle at the top of each Holly Green rectangle and a small Ebony Black square window on the train as shown in project photo.

Glue a small star to the center of each large “wheel” and a medium star to the center of each XL wheel. Glue circles to the center of each star.

The "present” flatbed train car is created in the same manner by gluing a craft stick across the bottom edge of the Santa Red, XL squares.

Glue “wheels” at each end of the craft stick. Glue the two flatbed cars together.

Glue the “bow” comprised of two painted Sour Apple stars, two triangles and the circle to the front of one Sand Red square as shown in the photo.

Glue the stars and circles to the wheels. All aboard the Holiday Express.

Tips

Make sure the bottom edge of the “wheels” are aligned, then your train will stand on a flat surface if desired.

Use the emery board to sand the wood pieces. Paint the edges of the wood pieces first then place on wax paper. Paint both sides of each piece before assembling.
