Project Instructions

Cut 12" piece of Beadalon® 20 ga. wire. Slide leaf onto center of the wire and wrap wire one time around the end of leaf.

Repeat step three times. Don’t worry if leaves are not positioned where you want them. You will secure them later.

Find desired size on ring mandrel and hold leaves over that size.

Wrap each wire around the mandrel until you have three wires (do not overlap wires).

Where wires meet at top, gently wrap them under the leaves to secure into place.

Carefully remove from mandrel.

Feed one of the wires through the ring and make two tight wraps around the top shank (again, do not overlap wires).

Repeat on other side.

Put back on mandrel to reshape if needed.

Trim excess wire.

Cut 24" piece of 26 ga. wire.

Bend in center.

Slide over center of rink shank and begin to wrap the 26 ga. wire around the shank. Each wrap must be tight, close and not overlapping. This is very important, to keep a clean look to your design. Also, be gentle with the wire. If it breaks you will need to unwrap and start over. Use a sewing motion to make these wraps. DO NOT TRIM excess when you get to the top.

Repeat with opposite side.

Position leaves as you want them to lie on your hand.

Thread one Howlite bead onto one of the wires. Wrap wire around the end of the leaf. This will secure the leaf and the bead. Keep repeating this step, alternating wires until you have added the desired number of beads. This project shows eight beads. Each time you add a bead, wrap the 26 ga. wire around the end of the leaf. Secure ends by tucking into bead cluster. If the leaves are still too loose, use remaining 6" piece, wrapping it around the leaf ends. Again, tuck ends of wire.

Place ring back onto the mandrel.

Using rawhide hammer, gently hammer down wraps. This will give your design a finished look.

If needed, you may stretch your ring to desired size by hammering in a downward motion.
