Cast on 30 sts.

1st row: (RS). (K1. P1) twice. P1. K20. P1. (P1. K1) twice.

2nd row: (P1. K1) twice. K1. P20. K1. (K1. P1) twice.

3rd row: (P1. K1) twice. P1. K20. P1. (K1. P1) twice.

4th row: (K1. P1) twice. K1. P20. K1. (P1. K1) twice.

5th row: (K1. P1) twice. P1. Slip next 5 sts onto a CN and leave at front of work. K5, then K5 from CN. Slip next 5 sts onto a CN and leave at back of work. K5, then K5 from CN. P1. (P1. K1) twice.

6th row: As 2nd row.

7th row: As 3rd row.

8th row: As 4th row.

9th to 20th rows: As 1st to 4th rows 3 times more.

Rep last 20 rows until work from beg measures approx 57" (144.5cm), ending with a 20th row of pat. Cast off in pat.

Sew cast on and cast off edges tog.
