Jacket Junction More Than a Bulletin Board
This is a fun, no-rules project—simply use chalkboard paint, and then unleash your imagination with colors, knobs, chalk and hooks to make an artistic, multipurpose home board. Post photos, doodle your ideas, hang keys and more! Designed by Martin Manrique.
Material List
- Stretched Blank Art Canvas
- Chalkboard Paint
- D-Rings, 2
- Cabinet Knobs and/or Hooks/Pulls
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Xacto Knife
- Chalk
- Personal Photos, Images, and/or Notes
Project Instructions
Take a stretched blank canvas and paint it with chalkboard paint.
Let dry for two hours, then apply a second coat and let it dry.
After the surface is dry, take the Xacto knife and make four diagonal cuts of one inch on the canvas for each photo you want to post. Insert photos inside the cuts to hold them in place.
Using a handheld drill, make small holes on the edge of the canvas in the wood that are the size of the knobs/hooks. Place your fixtures here.
Write and decorate with chalk as desired.
Finally, use a screwdriver to place two D-Rings on the back of the canvas
