Project Instructions

Step: 1

Cut brown spotted paper to 7-inches x 10-inches and fold in half for base of card. The card base folded should measure 5-inches x 7-inches and open vertically.

Step: 2

Create frame by cutting tan dotted paper to a 4¼-inch x 6¼-inch rectangle. Trim outside edge of frame with zigzag scissors. Use straight-edged scissors to carefully cut out inside of frame, creating a window.

Step: 3

Cut a 4-inch x 6-inch rectangle of pink/red plaid paper. Use adhesive foam squares to adhere the tan dotted frame to rectangle. Note: This should serve as a shallow shadow box for the embellishments.

Step: 4

Fold pink polka-dot paper in half to create a symmetrical heart. Cut along half heart freestyle and unfold. Mat heart on red polka-dot paper and trim with scalloped scissors. Adhere heart at an angle inside frame as shown.

Step: 5

Use adhesive foam squares to secure one die cut butterfly to card and heart. Cut off the left wing from other butterfly die cut, match it to butterfly wing on card and adhere in place with an adhesive foam square for dimensional effect.

Step: 6

Embellish butterfly with heart stickers and acrylic gemstones.

Step: 7

Add title so it overlaps heart and is secured to both sides of frame. Place heart stickers over the hearts already in the title.

Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer’s instructions for all products used.

Use straight-edged scissors for cutting unless otherwise indicated.

Save the butterfly die cut from which you cut the left wing. Place it sideways on a branch and use it as an accent on another card.
