Project Instructions
Step 1 An adult should use X-ACTO® Designer Series #1 Craft Knife and ruler on cutting mat to cut Elmer's® Foam Board™ into a 14"x20" piece. (Hint: Score lightly at first and then press more firmly to cut deeper, with several passes of the knife. Replace blade often)
Step 2 Child should do practice drawing with pencil on scratch paper first. For ideas, suggest that they draw what they see outside their home or school; look at favorite books or artwork online.
Step 3 Use pencil to lightly copy practice drawing on foam board. (Hint: To trace drawing exactly, use pencil to scribble graphite all over back of original drawing. Place onto foam board, with graphite side down. Secure corners with tape. Retrace lines with pencil, so that graphite transfers those lines onto foam board. Remove original drawing. Use eraser to remove any graphite smudges.)
Step 4 Go over pencil lines on foam board with paint markers.
