Note: To join new color, work to last 2 loops on hook. Yoh with new color and draw through 2 loops on hook.

With F: 8 rows.

These 48 rows form Stripe Pat.

 

Note: Afghan is worked sideways.

Ch 3 at beg of rows counts as dc throughout.

 

With A, ch 118.

1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. *1 dc in each of next 5 ch. Ch 2. (Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times in next ch. Yoh and draw through all 4 loops on hook – cluster made. Miss next 3 ch. Cluster in next ch. Ch 2. Rep from * to last 6 ch. 1 dc in each of next 6 ch. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 3. *1 dc in each of next 5 dc. Cluster in top of next cluster. Ch 3. Cluster in top of next cluster. Rep from * to last 6 dc. 1 dc in each of last 6 dc. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 5 (counts as dc and ch 2). *Cluster in next dc. Miss next 3 dc. Cluster in next dc. Ch 2. 1 dc in top of next cluster. 3 dc in next ch-3 sp. 1 dc in top of next cluster. Ch 2. Rep from * to last 6 dc. Cluster in next dc. Miss next 3 dc. Cluster in next dc. Ch 2. 1 dc in last dc. Turn.

Fasten off.

 

Fringe

Cut lengths of yarn 14" (35.5cm) long. Taking 6 strands tog, fold in half and knot into fringe across side edges of Afghan, coordinating color of fringe with color of stripes (approx 8 knots per stripe). Trim fringe evenly. Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread through rem sts and fasten securely.

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 45" x 58" (114.5 x 147.5cm) (excluding fringe)

Gauge: 7 dc and 4 rows = 4" (10cm)
