Project Instructions

This necklace is based on a European 1 in 4 structure. As an elegant accent, the centerpiece of the necklace has a delicate triangular drop. For visual pictures please refer to Tips and Techniques on page 4.

Open forty seven 6.5 mm silver jump rings.

Insert an open jump ring through four closed 6.5 mm silver jump rings.

Insert an open jump ring through two new jump rings and then through two jump rings from the previous step.

Continue making and joining chain with 6.5 mm silver jump rings until your necklace measures the appropriate length.

Making a Triangular Drop:
First Row: Lay your necklace flat and find the center. Open and insert a gold 6.5 mm jump ring through the center bottom silver jump ring and to the left jump ring that is adjacent. Take a second gold jump ring and insert it through the center bottom jump ring and to the right adjacent jump ring.  Take a third jump ring and attach it through the second jump ring to the left of center ring and to the third jump ring. Continue so that you have a total of four jump rings to the left of the center jump ring and four to the right.

Second Row: Starting from left to right open a 6.5 mm silver jump ring and attach it to the final gold jump ring and to the adjacent jump ring to the right. Attach the second jump ring to the second gold jump ring and to the third. Continue attaching jump rings until you have a total of seven silver jump rings in the second row.

Third Row: Repeat Step 6 with six 6.5 mm jump rings.

Fourth Row: Repeat Step 7 with five 6.5 mm jump rings.

Fifth Row: Open four 4.5 mm gold jump rings and attach to row four following Step 6.

Sixth Row: Open three 4.5 mm gold jump rings and attach to row five following Step 6.

Seventh Row: Open two 4.5 mm gold jump rings and attach to row six following Step 6.

Eighth Row: Open one 4.5 mm gold jump ring and attach to row six following Step 6.

Create a final row across the opposite side of the choker (the top) by attaching 4.5 mm silver jump rings:  open the first 4.5 mm jump ring and insert it through the two top row jump rings furthest to the left. Take the second 4.5 mm jump ring and insert it through the second jump ring and through the third. Continue attaching 4.5 mm jump rings across the entire top of your choker.

On each end of your choker attach three 4.5 mm silver jump rings. On one end of your necklace attach a clasp of your choice.
