Size: 3-6 months (18 months, 3 years)

Finished Width: 14 1/2 (16 1/2, 18 1/2) in. (37 (42, 47) cm)

14 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). Be sure to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Continue to work in St st (k on RS, p on WS), keeping first and last 3 sts in Garter st (k every row) until front measures 9 1/2 (10 1/2, 12 1/2) in. (24 (26.5, 32) cm) from beg, end with a RS row.

Next Row (WS): K3, p16 (18, 21), k12 (16, 16), p16 (18, 21), k3.

Finishing:

Fold Hood in half along bound-off edge and sew closed. Position pocket on center of front with longest straight edge on top; sew pocket to front along sides and lower edge. If desired, sew snaps on each side for armholes. Weave in ends.
