Project Instructions
- Glue the 2 wood gift boxes together. Allow to dry.
- Paint wood plaque green. Let dry.
- For cabin sides, cut 16 sticks 3-7/8" & 16 to 4-¼". Sand rough edges. Glue to sides, alternating sizes. Let dry. For front/back, cut 18 sticks to 4-¾" & 18 to 4-¼". Sand rough edges. Glue to front/back, alternating 2 lengths.
- Determine stick lengths going up the front/back by holding up to the wood handles. Continue until handles are covered.
- Glue Mini Jumbo Sticks to top of front/back for roof.
- Attach 12" painter's tape to work surface, sticky side up. Tape the ends down.
- Cut 4 matchsticks to 1-5/8" & 4 to 7/8" for side windows; cut 4 to 1-¼" & 4 to 7/8" for front windows.
- Place all cut matchsticks & ten more for door, onto tape. Paint all brown. Let dry.
- Cut out 4 yellow rectangles: two 1-¼"x1" and two 1-5/8"x1".
- Cut out curtains, glue onto window rectangles. Set aside.
- Paint rooflines, all matchsticks & insides of boxes brown.
- Water down brown paint & paint outside of cabin. Let dry.
- Cut two 8-½"x1" strips & two 4-5/8"x1" strips of green foam. Cut spikes down one side of each strip for grass. Glue to sides of green plaque.
- Glue 10 door matchsticks to front of cabin. Let dry. Attach button.
- Glue window paper rectangles onto cabin as shown. Glue window frame matchsticks onto cabin as shown.
- Glue house to base.
