Begin by baking your cakes (either 10”, 8” and 6” or 8”, 6” and 4”). Bake two layers of each in your favorite cake flavor. Frost between each cake layer.
Frost a thin layer over each cake.
Roll out white fondant and cover each cake. Smooth out wrinkles.
Stack cakes with cardboard circles between cakes and use dowels for support. Roll out red, green, blue and orange fondant for the decorations. Cut circles in each of the four colors.
Attach circles along the top edge of each cake, or as desired.
Attach circles by brushing the back of each one lightly with water and press gently into place. Add candy dots by peeling off backing paper and brushing lightly with corn syrup. Press gently into place.
Pipe a bead border around the bottom of each cake using white icing and a #10 tip.
