- Cable Needle
Approx. 6 x 60” (15 cm x 152.5 cm)
11 sts and 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stocking st.
Cast on 12 sts.
Knit 4 rows (garter st), noting first row is WS.
Next row: (WS). K1. M1. *K2. M1. Rep from * to last st. K1. 18 sts.
Proceed in pat as follows:
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd and alt rows: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3.
3rd row: K7. C8F. K3.
5th row: Knit.
7th row: K3. C8B. K7.
8th row: As 2nd row.
These 8 rows form Cable Pat.
Cont in Cable Pat until work from beg measures approx 59" (150 cm), ending with 8th row.
Next row: (RS). *K1. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 12 sts.
Knit 3 rows (garter st).
Cast off knitwise (WS).
Pom-pom (make 4): Wind yarn around 3 fingers approx 80 times. Remove from fingers and tie tightly in center. Cut through each side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape. Attach 1 pom-pom to each corner of scarf.
