Basic Motif
With Color 1, ch 4. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Step: 5
1st rnd: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 2 dc in ring. Ch 2. (3 dc. Ch 2) 3 times in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Step: 6
2nd rnd: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. [(2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc] 3 times. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Join Color 2 with sl st to top of ch 3.

3rd rnd: With Color 2, ch 2 (does not count as st). 1 hdc in same sp as sl st. [1 hdc in each dc to next ch-2 sp. (1 hdc. Ch 2. 1 hdc) in next ch-2 sp] 4 times. 1 hdc in each of next 2 dc. Join Color 3 with sl st to top of ch 2.

Edging
1st rnd: Join A with sl st in bottom right corner sc. Ch 3 (counts as dc). 2 dc in same sp. Work 1 dc in each dc, having 3 dc in corners. Join B with sl st to top of ch 3.

2nd rnd: With B, working from left to right instead of right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each dc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Step: 16
Fasten off.
