Loops and Threads™ Birdcage Journal
Dress up a plain journal with stackable buttons and scraps of ribbons, trims and fibers. You will make a one of a kind piece perfect for gifting or keeping.

Material List
- Spiral Journal or Notebook
- Assorted Ribbons and Fibers (to coordinate with journal and buttons)
- Craft Feather (1, to coordinate with paper and journal)
- E beads (2, black)
- Craft Wire (8” piece)
- Scrapbook Paper (to coordinate with journal and buttons)
- Paper Adhesive (of choice)
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue
- Wire Cutter
Project Instructions
Cut a piece of paper to fit half of the cover of the journal. Using paper adhesive, glue in place.
Glue a wide piece of ribbon to cover edge of paper at center of journal. Glue any other ribbons or trims on paper as desired.
Use hot glue to adhere feather to center of journal.
Fold wire in half. String E beads to center of wire. String ends of wire through both buttonholes of birdcage button, front to back. String on background button. Twist wire ends together at back of button. Trim wires. Glue stacked buttons to center of feathers.
Cut several 6” pieces of all ribbons and fibers. Knot to spiral, placing 2-3 ribbons on each ring.
