INSTRUCTIONS
Stripe Pat With A, work 4 rows in pat. With B, work 4 rows in pat. These 8 rows form Stripe Pat.
 

PILLOW
With A, ch 52.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
*Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn. 51 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Miss next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Last 2 rows form pat. First 3 rows of Stripe Pat are complete.
Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, cont in pat until work from beg measures approx. 32” (81.5 cm), ending 4 rows of B. Fasten off.
 

TREE With C, ch 38.
Working odd number rows in back loops only, proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 36 ch. Turn. 37 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. Draw up a loop in each of first 2 sts. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook – sctog made. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn.
3rd to 9th rows: As 2nd row. 21 sc at end of 9th row.
10th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
11th row: Ch 1. 2 sc in each of next 2 sc. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. 2 sc in each of last 2 sc. Turn. 25 sc.
12th row: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn. 27 sc.
13th to 19th rows: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn. 13 sc at end of 19th row.
20th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
21st row: As 11th row. 17 sc.
22nd row: As 12th row. 19 sc.
23rd to 28th rows: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn. 7 sc at end of 28th row.
29th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
30th row: As 11th row. 11 sc.
31st row: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn. 13 sc.
32nd to 36th rows: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn. 3 sc at end of 36th row.
37th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
38th row: Ch 1. Draw up a loop in each of next 3 sts. Yoh and draw through all 4 loops on hook – sc3tog made. Fasten off.
 

RUFFLE TRIM
Work ruffle row in front loops of each sc across odd numbered rows of Tree as follows:
 

Ruffle row: (RS). Join C with sl st to front loop of first sc at right edge of work. *Ch 3. Sl st in next st. Rep from * across, ending with sl st in last st. Fasten off.
 

FINISHING With WS facing each other, sew 2 sides of Pillow tog, leaving one edge open. Insert pillow form. Sew opening closed.
 

Sew Tree to Pillow. Sew beads to Tree as shown in picture.
