Project Instructions

Step 1 Punch a circle from medium pink cardstock, using the Eyelet Doily cartridge and following the instructions in the circle edge punch starter set (reprinted below). Choose a size that will fit the width of the gift bag.

Step 2 Punch a circle from dark pink cardstock, using the Flower Arches cartridge. Choose a size that will fit the bottom right hand corner of the bag.

Step 3 Cut green cardstock to fit front of bag.

Step 4 Using the circle cutter, cut a medium pink cardstock circle to fit the center of the Flower Arches punched circle, and adhere it in place. Cut a 1-1/2" light pink circle and adhere to the center of the medium pink circle.

Step 5 Adhere Flower Arches circle to bottom right corner of green cardstock, and trim with craft knife and ruler. Adhere the green cardstock to the front of the bag.

Step 6 Adhere pearls around the edge of the circle, and add one pearl to the center of the circle.

Step 7 Using the circle cutter, cut a dark pink circle to fit the center of the Eyelet Doily circle, and adhere in place. Add pearls as shown.

Step 8 Score across the center with bone folder and ruler, and fold in half with dark circle facing inward. Place fold across top edge of bag, and use a pencil to mark the outer edge of both sides of the handle. The fold should cross the center of the 1/4" line. Draw two long lines to connect the two short lines, creating a long narrow rectangle in the center of the circle. Use a ruler and craft knife to cut along the pencil lines through both layers of cardstock, creating a slot in the center of the circle.

Step 9 Slide topper over bag handles.

Circle Edge Punch Instructions

TIP: Use scrap paper to practice punching before starting your project.

Step 1 Remove clear cover from punch cartridge.

Step 2 Insert bottom metal plate from cartridge into sliding tray on base by pulling the release tab back and placing flat side up. Be sure that the smooth, flat side is facing up to ensure proper punch function. NOTE: Finished circle may be slightly smaller than selected size.

Step 3 Choose a circle size between 6" and 12" in 1" increments. Select circle size by sliding the measurement switch on the curved front of the base to desired diameter. Then move the sliding tray so the arrow marks align with the same number selected on the front of the base.

Step 4 Locate the center of your paper and lightly mark it with a pencil.

Step 5 Remove the rotating knob from the base by turning slightly and pulling up. Place your paper on the punch base over the circle where the knob was removed. Try to center this as well as possible. Align the grid on the bottom of the knob with the center of your paper. Replace knob on base so that all the magnets connect. You should feel the magnets lock the paper in place. If mark on paper does not align with grid, adjust the paper by pulling the edge until center mark is aligning. TIP: Use paper larger than your desired diameter. If your paper is the same size as the circle you are punching, align the center of the edge of your paper with the notch on the top of the metal punch plate.

Step 6 Place punch cartridge on top of your paper over the metal plate in the sliding tray. All magnets will connect.

Step 7 Press the punch cartridge down evenly with both hands.

Step 8 Remove the punch cartridge. Press down and turn the knob in either direction until it clicks in place. Paper will rotate to next area to be punched. TIP: If you are unsure if your paper is in the correct position, re-align the circle by turning the knob back to the previously punched position and rotate again.

Step 9 Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until circle is complete.

Step 10 Separate the knob from the base by turning slightly and pulling up. Remove finished circle.

For quick cleanup, tilt the open end of the base into a wastebasket and the punched scraps will slide out.
