Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut a 6½"x10" piece of cardstock. Place the paper on the scoring board horizontally so that the long side is at the top of the scoring board. Score a line at 1", 1½", and 2½" from each of the short edges of the cardstock.

Step 2 Rotate the piece of cardstock vertically so that the 5" side is at the top of the scoring board. Score between the 1" score line and the 2½" score line every ½". These lines should be perpendicular to the short side of the piece of cardstock. Repeat on the other 5" side, so that the two narrower ends of your cardstock have the same set of score lines.

Step 3 Using the Loop Hearts punch, punch along the 5" edge of the piece of cardstock. Repeat on the opposite side.

Step 4 On each end of the cardstock, fold down along the 1½" score line. Cut triangles into the fold, through two layers of cardstock, leaving 1/4" between them and using the score lines as a guide. Each triangle should be ¾" long, with the wide end along the 1½" score line and the tip extending to the next score line. When unfolded there should be a row of diamonds between the 1" and 2½" score lines on each end of the piece of cardstock.

Step 5 Gently roll the rectangle of cardstock so that it forms a tube. Secure with tape.

Tip: Use the edge of a table to round the cardstock. Carefully place the cardstock so that the long edge is parallel to the edge of the table and pull the cardstock over the edge of the table and down, firmly but gently, so as not to crease the cardstock. Repeat until the cardstock begins to curl.

Step 6 Tie each end of the cracker at the 1½" score line with ribbon, pulling it tighter gently to cinch in the diameter of the cracker. Tie in a bow.

Step 7 To decorate the cracker, cut strips of varying widths of cardstock. Each strip should be 6½" long and up to 5" wide. Punch along the edges of the strips of cardstock and secure them to the cracker with tape.

Tip: Choose contrasting colors of cardstock for layering.
