Project Instructions

Plan placement of fabric on Elmer's® Foam Board™ according to photo. Cut a 22" x 33" piece fusible fleece. With fusible side up, lay the 18" x 22" piece teal circle print (right side up), aligning edges on the left side of the fleece. Cut teal tone-on-tone piece to 15" x 22" and align onto the right side of the fleece, just meeting other fabric. Use iron to fuse fleece to fabric according to package instructions.

Cut two 9" x 18" pieces from the brown circle print and from the fusible web. Similarly iron on fusible web to wrong side of fabric. On one long edge, fold over 2" and press with iron. Place pieces side by side on top of teal fabrics, aligning sides and bottom edges – pin to hold.

Cut a 22" and a 33" length of 7/8" wide ribbon. To attach ribbon, vertically place and pin, 22" length ribbon where edges of fabric meet. Stitch along both sides of ribbon. Place and pin 33" length ribbon just above brown print fabric. Similarly, stitch.

To make pockets, plan pocket width, measure, mark and stitch. (Photo model has stitch lines (from left to right) at 4", 6", 6", 6 1/2", and 6 1/2".)

Place sewn fabric right side down on worktable with Foam Board™ on top. Fold fabric up over Foam Board™ edge and use hot glue gun to glue, working on opposite sides, in one small section at a time.

For hanger loop, overlap ends of a 6" length of 3/8" wide ribbon and glue to top left back of board. Similarly, make and glue loop for top right back of board. Let dry before hanging.

To make button tacks, use fabric scraps to cover buttons according to manufacturer's instructions. From buttons, remove shanks and hot glue to tops of thumbtacks.

Fill pockets with pens, notepads, cards, etc. Display photos and notes with button tacks pressed into Foam Board™.
