Read all tips in the Project Tip section below before beginning project.
Paint the sides of the wood box with brown paint and let dry. Once the paint is dry, use white craft glue to glue a sheet of scrapbook paper to box lid. Tear a piece of a coordinating paper into a small rectangle, use the StazOn ink pad to dab the torn edges, and glue to the top right corner of the lid. Set the box aside to let the glue dry.
Blend equal portions of brown, white and tan clay together using the pasta machine. Once the colors are well blended roll out a thin sheet.
Ink the rubber stamp and stamp onto the sheet of blended clay. Do not press the stamp too hard; use just enough pressure to stamp the words and slightly emboss the clay. Tear the edges of the sheet of clay away from the stamped area leaving a border. Use the stamp pad to dab ink onto the torn edges to darken them. Set aside on the baking surface.
For the strip along the bottom, take some more pieces of each color of clay. Condition them separately and then twist them together to form a marbleized lump. Roll this lump through the pasta machine to make a marbleized sheet of clay.
Cut a strip off this sheet then cut the strip into four different rectangular pieces. Gently press the Tim Holtz gear embellishments into the clay rectangles. Use a craft knife to cut any clay out of the middle of the gears, if desired. Place these onto the baking surface with the stamped piece. Bake as instructed in the Project Tip section below. Let cool.
Using the white craft glue, attach the baked clay pieces to the box lid as shown. If any of the pieces need to be trimmed a little more, use the craft knife.
Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer’s instructions for all products used.
