Measure cork tiles to fit into space desired for push-pin section and cut with sharp knife or heavy duty scissors. Be careful when cutting; cork tiles can crumble and a smooth edge may be hard to achieve with regular scissors. Measure and cut cork to fit bottom of wooden block photo holder.
Shake Iron Metallic Surfacer very well, prior to use. Use foam brush to paint non-corked section with at least 3 coats of Iron Metallic Surfacer. Multiple, even, layers of Iron Metallic Surfacer will produce stronger magnetic properties. Allow sufficient dry time between coats. Add next layer when previous is dry to the touch. Let dry fully before adding other pieces.
Shake Metallic Surfacers well, prior to use. Use small tipped brush to paint interior rim of board and small inside square with 2 coats Blonde Bronze Metallic Surfacer. Allow to dry. Paint exterior rim of board with 2 coats of Blackened Bronze Metallic Surfacer. Allow to dry.
Paint top and 2 sides of wooden block of photo holder with Blackened Bronze Metallic Surfacer. Allow to dry. Paint bottom and remaining sides of wooden block photo holder with Blonde Bronze Metallic Surfacer. Allow to dry.
Optional: Seal painted surfaces (except for Iron surface) with Primer and Clear Sealer. Allow to dry. This will add gloss/shine to the surface and create a more polished look.
Use tape to affix one end of ribbon to bottom of block. Starting at the bottom, wrap ribbon around corners and sides of block, allowing to criss-cross as shown. Once wrapped completely, cut excess ribbon and affix with tape to bottom of block. Glue previously cut cork piece to bottom of block.
Use tape to affix one end of ribbon to back of cut cork piece for message board. Wrap in criss-cross pattern around cork as shown. Once pattern is complete, cut excess ribbon and affix with tape to back of cork piece.
Glue ribbon-wrapped cork piece(s) to designated sections of message board, taped-side down. Add push-pins and magnets. Your message board and photo holder are now ready to display pictures, shopping lists, reminders, cards, and more!
