Map and Passport Booklet
Step 1 Measure and cut corrugated paper into two pieces, 8"x12" and 9¼"x3¾". Set aside the smaller piece for later and cut the scrap piece into two pieces, 2½"x1½" and 2"x1¼". Set aside the smaller scrap piece for later.
Step 2 Measure and cut burlap into three pieces, 10"x2¾", 8"x2", and 2"x3¾". Set aside the smaller piece for later.
Step 3 Measure 2¾" up from the 8" side of the corrugated cardboard (ridges inside) and fold to create a pocket.
Step 4 Fold in half lengthwise to create a 4"x9" booklet with pocket, smooth side facing out.
Step 5 Use Mod Podge® to adhere burlap with large piece along bottom of booklet, wrapping excess around the pocket on the inside to close up sides, and evenly along top edge of booklet. Allow to dry.
Step 6, Cut out desired travel design elements from Podgeable Papers.
Step 7 Apply rub-on transfer “Good Times” to Eiffel Tower.
Step 8 Glue Eiffel Tower to one side of rectangular Podgeable Shape. From the center, use your finger to press out any bubbles until smooth. Set aside to dry.
Step 9 Refer to photo for placement of shapes on front and inside of booklet. Attach with Mod Podge. Allow to dry and seal papers by giving a topcoat of Mod Podge®. Allow to dry.
Step 10 Use hole punch to make a hole one inch in from the 1½" side of remaining corrugated cardboard. Insert brad and hot glue to secure.
Step 11 Use hole punch to make a hole on front of booklet, 1" from right side edge. Insert (into the hole on the front side) the end of a 16" piece of jute; hot glue in place (back side). Glue brad closure piece over hole in front and wrap and glue around to inside of booklet.
Step 12 Attach rectangular shape to booklet front using hot glue.
Step 13 Secure booklet by wrapping jute around booklet and then around brad two times.
Travel Pocket Journal
Step 1 Fold corrugated paper (9¼"x3¾") in half (smooth side of corrugated paper facing in). Use Mod Podge® to adhere burlap around outside fold. Allow to dry.
Step 2 Cut sheets of paper into thirds. You should have (24) 8½"x3¾" sheets. Use hole punch and make two holes, 1" in, on fold line in both paper and corrugated paper, making sure holes align.
Step 3 Cut out desired travel images from Podgeable Papers.
Step 4 Apply rub-on transfer “Have some fun” to a Podgeable Shapes large oval. Glue in place with Mod Podge® pressing out any bubbles. Allow to dry.
Step 5 Apply “Memories” Rub-On. Refer to photo for placement of additional rub-on inspiration on front and inside of booklet. Attach with Mod Podge®. Allow to dry and seal papers by giving a topcoat of Mod Podge®. Allow to dry.
Step 6 Use hole punch to make a hole on front of journal jacket, 1" in from right side edge. Insert (into the hole on the front side) the end of jute; hot glue in place (back side). Glue brad closure piece over hole in front and wrap and glue around to inside of journal jacket.
Step 7 Feed jute through outside hole of journal jacket and through pages then back through journal jacket, tying ends together.
Step 8 Add jump rings to acrylic shape and small charm. Attach onto outside of journal.
Step 9 Secure journal by wrapping jute around journal and then around brad two times.
