Wash shirts without fabric softener to remove sizing.
Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth. Place damp shirts on surface then smooth flat.
Wearing gloves from dye kit, fill Red and Fuchsia dye bottles with water to indicated line then shake until each is thoroughly mixed.
Working in a vertical motion, squeeze Red along lower 1/3 of shirt. Fill in remainder with Fuchsia. Repeat on all shirts, using extra dye bottles as needed for remaining shirts.
Cover dyed shirts with another plastic tablecloth to keep damp. Let set 6 to 8 hours or longer for most intense color. Fully rinse dyed fabric under warm running water until extra dye is removed and water runs clear. Fill washer to large load setting with hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of laundry soap.
Dry in dryer then iron smooth. Place pieces right side down on clean plastic tablecloth.
Wearing plastic gloves, prepare Black dye. Remove lid and attach spray nozzle from kit. Start spray on paper towel to get a feel for nozzle. Place lace fabric from on Fuchsia section of shirt where shown, starting at one end of shirt. Spray an even coating of Black dye over lace, working right up to edge but avoid spraying over the edge. Carefully lift lace then line up next to first spray design and spray over lace. Remove lace, flip over shirt and repeat process on back, making sure lace is in same position as lace designs on front of shirt. Repeat step with remainder of shirts.
Let set 6 to 8 hours then repeat step for washing and drying.
To create skirt, use scissors to cut each extra large shirt from side hems straight up to shoulder seams, cutting off sleeves then across shirt just under neckline, creating two large rectangle shapes from each shirt. Determine length of skirt desired then measure and cut from hem. Repeat step creating four total sections and setting one section aside.
Using smaller shirt for bodice, cut off sleeves then across under neckline. Starting at side seam on each side, cut about 3-inches in at an angle toward top cut edge. Determine length of bodice, measure and cut from top casing down.
To create casing, turn top cut edge to inside about 1-inch, hold in place with pins then sew along cut edge. Repeat step with back of shirt.
Sew three skirt panels together, lining up lace designs at sides. Hem can be cut off and a new one sewn in if needed. Sew two lines of gather stitches along top edge. Gather to fit lower edge of bodice, pin to secure then sew in place. Remove gather stitches.
To create ties, measure and cut four strips 2-inches x length of fabric from extra dyed section. Sew ends together to create two longer strips then fold over, wrong sides together, and sew along cut edges, creating two separate ties.
Attach safety pin on one end, insert into casing and slide along to other end. Pull out and gather fabric along strip. Repeat with back then tie at shoulders.
