- Cricut Expression® Personal Electronic Cutter
- Cricut® Stand and Salute Cartridge
- Cardstock: White, Blue, Brown
- Wooden Plaque (12-inch x 9-inch)
- Red Ribbon (1 yard)
- Paint: Red
- Paintbrush
- Ink pad: Brown
- Dauber
- Mod Podge®
- Sponge Brush
- Paper Trimmer
- Sandpaper
- Drill
Project Instructions
Step: 1
Drill holes in top corners of plaque for ribbon. Sand plaque for desired smoothness. Paint plaque. Let dry. Distress edges as desired. Ink edges.
Step: 2
Cut three 12-inch x 1½-inch strips of white cardstock. Ink edges of strips. Use Mod Podge to adhere strips to plaque as shown. Let dry.
Step: 3
Cut one 3-inch x 3-inch block of blue cardstock. Ink edges. Use Mod Podge to adhere block to upper left corner of plaque. Let dry. Poke a hole through block so drilled hole isn’t covered.
Step: 4
Cut star: Using Stand and Salute cartridge and white cardstock, select Shadow feature and cut one 2½-inch <Star>. Ink edges. Use Mod Podge to adhere star to blue block. Let dry.
Step: 5
Cut My Hero: Using brown cardstock, press Shift and cut one 2½-inch <MyHero>. Use Mod Podge to adhere My Hero to lower right corner of plaque. Let dry.
Step: 6
Cut soldier: Using brown cardstock, cut one 7-inch <ManSoldr>. Use Mod Podge to adhere soldier to center of plaque. Let dry.
Step: 7
Seal entire plaque with Mod Podge. Let dry. Tie ribbon through holes and hang where desired.
