Adults can have fun creating these nautical themed boxes using paint and cardstock. Use a Cricut® to cut out monogrammed letters. These oval boxes are great for organization or pure inspiration in any room.
Step 1 Paint the box lids navy and let dry completely. Paint another coat onto the lids. Let dry.
Step 2 Paint the boxes white. Let dry between coats. (Two or three coats of paint may be needed.)
Step 3 Cut (14) ¾"x4" strips of grey paper. Cut (14) 1"x4" strips of No.17 paper.
Step 4 Use a tape runner or glue to attach the grey strips onto the navy paper. Glue the strips onto the smallest box. Leave about an inch between strips. Trim off any excess paper.
Step 5 Cut (14) 1"x4½" strips of Tumbled Glass from the paper pack and No. 17 paper. Repeat previous steps to attach papers to the middle box.
Step 6 Cut (15) 1"x5" strips of Worn Lipstick from the paper pack and No.17 paper. Repeat previous steps to attach papers to the large box.
Step 7 Hot glue yarn around the bases of the boxes.
Step 8 Cut three strips about 1" wide across a large T-shirt. Loop one end of each strip around a binder clip and make a half hitch knot. Wrap the strip around the box lid and slide the opposite end through the binder clip, wrap around the strip and through the loop created. Pull snug and trim the ends.
Step 9 Cut 2" letters on the Cricut® using Simply Sweet cartridge and white cardstock. Cut 2½" letters. Ink the edges of the letters with an ink pad. Attach letters to the front of the boxes.
Let paint dry on boxes before painting an additional coat on them. Cut a large white T-shirt into several 1" strips for the trim on these boxes. Refer to photo.
