Material List

  • Apple Barrel® Acrylic Paint - White, Black, Yellow & Nutmeg Brown
  • Wood Spoon
  • Bazzill® Basics Cardstock, 12"x12" - Carob and Brown
  • Chinelle Stems - Tan
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Elmer's® Glue (or Low Heat Glue Gun)

Project Instructions

Step 1 Base coat the spoon with white acrylic.

Step 2 Paint the handle with Nutmeg Brown.

Step 3 Paint the scallop for the neck feathers with white.

Step 4 Paint the beak with yellow. Using the end of the brush handle and black, add dots for the eyes.

Step 5 Cut the large wing out of the Carob cardstock. Cut the top layer of the wing out of the brown cardstock. Glue the wing layers together as shown.

Step 6 Cut the bottom layer of the tail feathers out of the Carob cardstock. Cut the top layer from the brown cardstock. Glue all the feathers to the back of the spoon as shown.

Step 7 Cut the Tan chenille stem in half. Take one half and twist a loop in the center. Twist two additional loops, one on each side. Repeat for the other foot and glue to the bottom of the spoon as shown.
