Project Instructions

Step 1 Wash shirt and do not dry.

Step 2 Cover work surface with plastic table cover. Tape cover down to create a stable painting surface.

Step 3 Lay out T-shirt flat on protected work surface.

Step 4 In empty dye bottles, mix red, fuchsia, and purple dye refills according to package instructions.

Step 5 Apply red dye across neck and shoulders of T-shirt. Use wide paintbrush dipped in water to blend dye downward. Rinse brush and refill water cup.

Step 6 Apply fuchsia dye to center section of shirt, blending upward into red section and downward toward shirt bottom. Rinse brush and refill water cup.

Step 7 Apply purple dye to bottom of T-shirt, and blend upward into fuchsia section with wet paintbrush. Add water or dye as needed to blend colors.

Step 8 Allow shirt to sit overnight on work surface. Rinse under cool running water to remove excess dye.

Step 9 Wash and dry shirt as instructed in package directions.

Step 10 Iron freezer paper to inside front of T-shirt. Use chalk to lightly sketch a heart shape onto T-shirt.

Step 11 Use Ebony Soft® paint and 1" brush to loosely paint a heart shape over sketched design. Let dry. Remove freezer paper from inside T-shirt.

Tips

Ironing a piece of freezer paper inside of T-shirt provides a stable painting surface and helps prevent paint seepage to back of T-shirt.
