Project Instructions

Mix dye into a large plastic bin or bucket. It will need to be large enough to dip the shirt into it while hanging on a hanger. Add enough water until it's about 8" deep. Set aside.

Find a place to work outside if possible. Get a hanging rack or shepherd's hook ready to hang the dipped shirt to dry.

Dip shirt on hanger into the bin full of dye. Dip up to the shoulder area.

Dip the lowest part of the shirt into the dye again.

Hang the shirt on the hanger to dry.

Let hang for 6-8 hours.

Wash shirt and iron.

Begin to cut the neckline off and make a v-neck.

Cut off the sleeves creating a tank-style shoulder.

Cut strips out of the sleeves and pull to make strings.

Wrap strips around the back of the shirt through both arm holes. Wrap strips around several times and tie.

Wrap smaller strips around the shoulders and tie.
