When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. (10cm) square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Material List
- Lion Brand® Homespun® (Art. #790) Yarn – Ambrosia (1 Skein) or Color of Choice
- Lion Brand® Knitting Needles, Size 10 (6mm)
- Lion Brand® Large-eyed Blunt Needle
Project Instructions
Cast on 64 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch (knit every row) until piece measures about 12 in. (30.5cm) from cast-on edge. Bind off. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
FINISHING
Sew side seam to form a tube, reversing seam for about 3 in. (7.5cm) at cast-on edge for fold back edge of Hat. Weave tail through stitches of bound-off edge and pull to gather top of Hat, knot securely. Weave in yarn ends.
