Owl Costume

Material List
- For Mask
- Zucker Half Mask: White
- CPE Felt Squares: Brown, Cocoa, Camel, White
- CPE Stiffened Felt: Yellow
- Yarn or Ribbon: Brown
- Scissors
- Craft Glue
- For Costume
- T-Shirt: White
- Rit Dye: Cocoa Brown
- CPE Felt Squares (we used 10 squares of each color): Brown, Cocoa, Camel
- CPE Felt: White (36-inch x 36-inch package)
- Low-Temperature Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Project Instructions
Step: 1
Mask
Cut feathers as shown from brown, cocoa, camel and white felt.
Step: 2
Cut beak from yellow felt.
Step: 3
Glue feathers around mask as shown, adding white to outline the eyes.
Step: 4
Glue beak in place.
Step: 5
Replace elastic with brown yarn or ribbon for tying
Step: 6
Costume
Read through all instructions on the package of dye before going forward with this project.
Step: 7
Dye the white shirt, let dry.
Step: 8
Cut feathers from the brown, cocoa and camel felt squares. Note: One sheet of felt should make 10 feathers. We used 10 sheets of each color.
Step: 9
Start at the bottom of the shirt. Placing side-by-side, glue two rows of feathers along bottom, one row on top of other, as shown.
Step: 10
Cut a 15-inch oval from white felt for center chest of the owl. Glue in place overlapping the bottom row of feathers.
Step: 11
Add feathers to cover the rest of the shirt using the photo as your guide.
Step: 12
Cut small feathers to trim out the top neckline. Glue in place.
Step: 13
Glue feathers to back to complete your costume.
