Step: 1

Rub vinegar all over tin-ware with paper towel. Use a paper towel dampened with water to wipe off vinegar. Dry thoroughly with clean dry paper towel.

Step: 2

Double load #12 flat brush with Burnt Umber and Wicker White. Slide on the chisel edge of brush from the base of the bucket up toward the top rim, bending and curving the branch as shown. Paint some branch divisions and smaller branches coming off of those.

Step: 3

Double load #12 flat brush with Engine Red and Burnt Umber (mostly red). Paint basic leaf strokes coming off of the branches. Slide on the chisel edge of the brush to paint the veins of leaves.

Step: 4

Double load #12 flat with School Bus Yellow and Wicker White. Paint the wings of the butterfly, painting the wing that is behind first, then painting the one on top. Be sure to keep the light side of the brush out.

Step: 5

Thin Green Forest with a little water on the Script Liner. Use this to paint body and feeler of butterfly.

Step: 6

Pick up Wicker White on tip of Script Liner (do not thin) and paint small comma stroke wing embellishments.
