Project Instructions

Base coat the clay pot and doll head with Love Bird. Base coat the saucer with Green Curry, and the Styrofoam® ball and dowel with Scottish Highlands. Allow to dry. Paint Tartan Red stripes on the pot rim and Love Bird on the saucer rim. Add Wedding Cake Dots to the doll head.

Apply Mod Podge® on the scrapbook paper to be used as tree layers and let dry. Cut out one circle in each size. 4-3/8", 4", 3-1/4", 2-1/2", and 2".

To make the pleats, fold each circle first four times on one side and then four more times on the other side in between the previous fold from the other side. Make a small hole in the middle. The hole size should match the size of your dowel. Cut points at every fold.

Using the patterns provided, paint the Wedding Cake background for presents 1/8" larger than pattern. Cut presents and ribbon from green and red dot paper. Decoupage presents on the white boxes. For the bows, decoupage paper onto a piece of poster board; cut out and glue to presents.

To assemble, glue the bottom of the saucer to the bottom of the clay pot. Glue the Styrofoam® ball into the pot. Insert dowel and add the layers of the tree. Mark each layer and then remove. Starting with the bottom layer make a small ledge with the hot glue gun. Allow glue to dry and then place the first bottom layer on top of ledge. You may want to add a touch of glue to the ledge to hold the layer in place. Continue with the rest of the layers and then glue dowel into the Styrofoam®. Attach the doll head at top.

Use the handle end of the paintbrush to paint dots.
