Scarf: Approx 8 ins [20.5 cm] wide x 62 ins [157.5 cm] long.

Tension

5½ shells and 8 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger hook in pat.

Instructions

Kerchief

With MC and larger hook, ch 5.

3rd row: 1 dc in first dc. *Shell in next sp between 2 shells. Rep from * to last shell. Shell in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 4. Turn.

Rep last row until there are 26 shells in row ending last row with ch 37. Turn.

Next row: Ss in 2nd ch from hook. 1 ss in each of next 35 ch. 1 sc in each dc or ch 1 sp across, ending with 1 sc in ch 4 sp. 1 sc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 37. Turn.

Next row: Ss in 2nd ch from hook. 1 ss in each of next 35 ch. Ss in next sc. Fasten off.

Flower Appliqué

1st rnd: Work 11 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join A with ss to top of ch 3. 12 dc in rnd.

2nd rnd: With A, ch 4. *[(Yoh) twice and draw up a loop. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice] twice in next dc. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook - tr2tog made. Ch 4. Ss in next dc.

Ch 4. Rep from * around to last dc. Tr2tog in last dc. Ch 4. Join with ss in same sp as first ch 4. Fasten off.

Sew Flower Appliqué to Kerchief as illustrated.

Pocket (make 2)

With MC and larger hook, ch 17.

4th row: (Shell in next sp between 2 shells) 7 times. Shell in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 1. 1 dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 4. Turn.

Rep last row 7 times more omitting turning ch at end of last row. Fasten off.

Scarf: With MC and larger hook, ch 34.

Foundation row: Shell in 5th ch from hook. (Miss next 2 ch. Shell in next ch) 9 times. Miss next ch. 1 dc in last ch. Ch 4. Turn.

1st row: 1 dc in first dc. (Shell in next sp between 2 shells) 9 times. Shell in top of turning ch. Ch 3. Turn.

2nd row: (Shell in next sp between 2 shells) 10 times. 1 dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 4. Turn.

Rep last 2 rows until Scarf from beg measures 62 ins [157.5 cm] omitting turning ch at end of last row. Fasten off.
