Project Instructions

Select a hardbound book or journal with a red cloth cover.

Lay a piece of patterned paper over the front cover, leaving a margin along the spine. Secure with lots of double-sided tape. Trim paper so there is at least an inch of overhang along each free edge of the cover.

Cut in from top and side edge of paper toward upper right corner of book cover, removing a square notch in the corner of the paper. Repeat for bottom right corner.

Score paper with a bone folder, then fold edges around top, bottom, and side of book cover, securing with lots of double-sided tape. (Tip: For a finished look, cut a piece of paper to fit the inside cover of the book and affix with tape.)

Repeat process for back cover.

Tie a ribbon around book. Make a tag using a heart stamp and pink ink on white paper and cut out.
