Step: 1

Costume
Pre-wash t-shirts following manufacturer’s instructions.

Step: 2

Place board inside black t-shirt to prevent paint from seeping through.

Step: 3

Use pattern to trace skull design onto black t-shirt. Paint in with white matte. Let dry.

Step: 4

Paint face with black. Immediately sprinkle on black glitter. Shake off excess. Outline design with red glitter paint. Let dry.

Step: 5

Vest: Remove sleeves from red t-shirt. Lay shirt flat and cut up center. Cut sides into a V, as shown in photo. Using black Scribbles paint, draw lines on shirt about 2-inches apart. Use flat paintbrush to brush out the lines to create stripes. Add buttons down front, 3 on each side, with gold glitter paint. Let dry.

Step: 6

Treat Bag
Use paint directly from the bottle to draw the white skull and crossbones onto the tote bag. Let dry and add eyes, nose and mouth as shown.

Step: 7

Draw “X” with red paint, let dry and outline with black.

Step: 8

Write AHOY MATEY with black paint.

Step: 9

Draw pathway to x with black paint, let dry.

Step: 10

Place small amount of brown paint on paper plate, add a few drops of water to thin. Use paintbrush to add streaks of brown to make tote bag look worn.
