Project Instructions
Make a funnel by rolling the scrap paper into a cone shape and taping the end to hold in place.
Use funnel to control sand poured into the bottles.
Pour sand, as you like, into the bottles.
Cook Children’s Expert:
This activity provides children with lots of opportunities for control. Children will use their fine motor skills to hold the funnel and to control the flow of sand. They will also use cognitive skills to plan the outcome of the sand and make decisions. Their visual and spatial skills will be used to determine the use ofspace within the bottle. The ability to use all these skills will build the child’s self-esteem, autonomy and independence.
