Project Instructions

Step 1 To create the base, roll thin sheet of lime green clay to door hanger size. Place drinking glass on clay and use tool to cut out doorknob hole. Place on baking surface.

Step 2 For the palm tree, make flattened brown log for palm tree trunk and texture with tool. Press along door hanger edge. Make green and lime green logs. Twist logs together and mix until marbled. Roll into log and cut pieces for large and small leaves. Press large flattened leaves on trunk and smaller leaves around circle cutout. Texture leaves with tool.

Step 3 To make the purple brontosaurus, make purple flattened teardrop for body, purple flattened log for neck, purple flattened oval for head, two purple flattened teardrops for legs, purple pointed log for tail, seven dark purple flattened circles for spots, two dark purple triangles for toenails, and two tiny black balls for eyes. Press circles on body. Press eyes on head. Press toenails on feet. Position pieces on door hanger and press together.

Step 4 To make the green stegosaurus, make green flattened teardrop for body, green flattened circle for head, two green long flattened teardrops for front legs, two green flattened ovals for back feet, six green triangles for spikes, lime green flattened oval for chest, two lime green flattened ovals for footpads, three gray small logs for horns and nose, and 12 gray small ovals for toenails. Press chest on body and texture with tool. Press footpads on back feet. Press toenails on front legs. Press body above brontosaurus. Press back feet on body sides. Press on front legs. Press head on body. Press spikes around head. Press on horns and eyes. Use tool to carve eyebrows. Press on back toenails.

Step 5 Bake according to instructions above. Allow the clay to cool. Write name with permanent marker.
