Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Good working surfaces include the Sculpey® Clay Mat, a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper. Knead clay for 2 minutes. Bake on an oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130°C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6mm) thickness. Do not use microwave oven. Do not exceed the above temperatures or recommended baking time. All baking should be completed by an adult. Wash hands after use.
Refer to photograph for sizing and placement. Remove metal cap and hanger from ornament. Save cap to use in assembly. Discard hanger. Create all pieces and then assemble on glass ornament.
Using white clay, shape a 2¼" ball into a large teardrop drop for the body. Using the ornament’s metal cap, press a hole into the underside of the body. Divide a 2" ball into 4 pieces, 2 slightly larger than the others. Shape the 2 smaller pieces into logs for the arms and the 2 larger pieces into legs. Create a 1 1/8" ball for the head. Make about a dozen ½" balls; 1 will be for the pom pom on top of the hat and the rest for snowballs inside of the ornament.
Using blue clay, shape a 1" ball into a cone for the hat. Press the rounded tool into the bottom to create a hollow space to fit over the head. Shape a ½" ball into a long strip for the scarf. Using the knife tool, cut fringes into the ends and press lines onto the scarf.
Make a small ball from Orange clay for the nose.
Make a tiny Red ball and flatten for the tongue.
Make 2 very small Black balls for the eyes.
Bake all of the ½" White balls except for 1, for the inside of the ornament; allow to cool. Place baked snowballs inside the ornament. Replace cap on top of ornament.
Press the body onto the top of the ornament in a lying down position with the tip of the teardrop lifted slightly. Press the legs and arms onto the sides of the body and the head onto the top. Wrap the scarf around the neck and press the hat onto the head. Add the pom pom onto the tip of the hat. Using the needle tool, draw a mouth into the face; attach the nose, eyes and tongue.
Add a drop of glue onto the end of the eye pin and press it into the back of the hat leaving the loop exposed.
Bake as directed. Allow to cool. Attach cording to eye pin loop to hang ornament.
