Project Instructions
Step: 1
Remove all packaging and cardboard insert from acrylic frame.
Step: 2
Determine desired positioning for image and adhere to cardboard insert; place back into frame.
Step: 3
Using non-stick craft scissors, cut and adhere piece of packaging tape or laminate to mask area of frame to leave opening for image.
Step: 4
Apply alcohol ink in chosen color to applicator felt; dab onto face and sides of frame. Add additional ink colors to achieve desired effect. Note: use blending solution to dilute and lighten tones.
Step: 5
For a polished stone effect, press Krylon® Leafing Pen onto frame over alcohol ink allowing liquid leafing to puddle, or draw “veining” through ink colors. Blend inks and leafing using the applicator to reach desired effect; allow to dry.
Step: 6
Remove masking from frame box. Further embellish frame by edging with Krylon® Leafing Pen, draw designs, swirls, etc. on top of inked frame.
Step: 7
Clean any ink or leafing that may have seeped under edges of masking with a cotton swab and Adirondack® Alcohol Blending Solution.
Step: 8
When completely dry, further embellish or accent design using Sharpie® markers, if desired.
