Supplies

Loops and Threads® Country Loom™

(5 oz/140 g ; 104 yds / 95 m)

3 balls of #01416 (Kiss Me)

Size U.S. 13 (9 mm) circular knitting needle

24" (60 cm) long or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Gauge:
11 sts and 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stocking st.

 

Instructions:

Cast on 88 sts. Join in rnd placing a marker on first st.

Proceed in Welt Pat as follows:

1st to 4th rnds: Purl.

5th to 8th rnds: Knit.

These 8 rnds form Welt Pat.

Rep last 8 rnds 3 times more.

 

Next 4 rnds: Purl.

Next 2 rnds: Knit.

Next rnd: (eyelet rnd). *K2. yo. K2tog.

Rep from * around.

Next 2 rnds: Knit.

Rep 8 rnds of Welt Pat 4 times more.

Next 4 rnds: Purl.

Cast off loosely.

 

Finishing

Twisted Cord: Cut 4 lengths of yarn 120" (305 cm) long. With someone holding opposite end, twist strands to the right until they begin to curl tightly. Fold strands in half and secure ends. Weave twisted cord through eyelet rnd.

 

Pom-pom: (make 2). Wind yarn around 3 fingers approx 80 times. Remove from fingers and tie tightly in center. Cut through each side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape. Attach 1 pom-pom to each end of twisted cord.

inc 1 = increase 1 stitch by

knitting into front and

back of next stitch.

k = knit.

k2tog = knit next

2 stitches together.

pat = pattern.

rep = repeat.

rnd(s) = round(s).

st(s) = stitch(es).

Tips

The drawstring is woven through the holes in the eyelet round, with ends meeting at center front.
