Pom-pom Booties
Knit these adorable booties using Softee Baby yarn which is a soft and easy to care for yarn used for many baby projects.

- Bernat® Softee Baby (5 oz/140 g ; 395 yds/361 m): 1 ball of #30044 (Flannel) for MC (Main Color) 1 ball of #02001 (Pink), or #02002 (Pale Blue), or #02000 (White) for Contrast A
- Size U.S. 6 (4 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge
22 sts and 30 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stocking stitch.

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).
Booties (make 2 alike)
Sole: 1st row: (WS). Knit.
2nd row: K1. M1. K14 (16-18). M1. K1. M1. K14 (16-18). M1. K1. 35 (39-43) sts.
3rd and alt rows: Knit.
4th row: K1. M1. K16 (18-20). M1. K1. M1. K16 (18-20). M1. K1. 39 (43-47) sts.
6th row: K1. M1. K18 (19-22). M1. K1. M1. K18 (20-22). M1. K1. 43 (47-51) sts.
7th to 9th rows: Knit. Break A.
With MC, work 12 (14-16) rows garter st (knit every row).
Shape foot: 1st row: (RS). K11. ssk. K6 (8-10). ssk. K1. K2tog. K6 (8-10). K2tog. K11. 39 (43-47) sts.
2nd and alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: K11. ssk. K4 (6-8). ssk. K1. K2tog. K4 (6-8). K2tog. K11. 35 (39-43) sts.
5th row: K11. ssk. K2 (4-6). ssk. K1. K2tog. K2 (4-6). K2tog. K11. 31 (35-39) sts.
7th row: K11. ssk. K0 (2-4). ssk. K1. K2tog. K0 (2-4). K2tog. K11. 27 (31-35) sts.
Beg with a purl row, work 5 (7-9) rows stocking st, dec 1 st at center of last row. 26 (30-34) sts.
Cuff: 1st row: (RS). K1. *P2. K2. Rep from * to last st. K1.
2nd row: P1. *K2. P2. Rep from * to last st. P1.
Rep last 2 rows (K2. P2) ribbing for 2 (2¼-2½)" (5 (5.5-6) cm) ending with a RS row.
Cast off loosely in ribbing.
Sew bottom and back seam, reversing seam half way through ribbing for fold back cuff.
Pom-pom: (make 2). Wind A around 2 fingers approx 40 times. Remove from fingers and tie tightly in center. Cut through each side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape. Attach one pom-pom to each Bootie as seen in picture.
