Material List

  • Folkart Paint - Shamrock (or Color of Your Choice)
  • Mod Podge- Gloss
  • Wood Letters (to Spell the Name of Your Choice)
  • Old Map
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Craft Knife
  • Paint Brush

Project Instructions

Step: 1

Trace the letters on the map first, using the pencil. Set aside.

Step: 2

Basecoat all of the wood letters using the FolkArt paint. We chose Shamrock, but you should choose the color that best compliments your map colors and décor. Allow to dry.

Step: 3

While your letters are drying, go back and cut out the letters from your map. Cut just inside the pencil lines.

Step: 4

Use the Mod Podge to decoupage the map cutouts to the appropriate letters. Allow to dry for 15 - 20 minutes and then cover all of the letters with Mod Podge, at least two coats.

Step: 5

Use the craft knife to trim the paper in any areas where you may have gone over the edge.

Step: 6

Allow project to dry for 24 hours before hanging on the wall or displaying.
