Material List

  • Milk Container (Gallon)
  • Sharpie® Marker
  • Sharp Scissors (or X-ACTO® Knife)
  • Plaid® Mod Podge®
  • Recycled Newspaper (and/or Magazines, Etc.)
  • Scrap Paper (Scrapbook Paper, Plain, Etc.)
  • Foam Brush
  • Jute
  • Hole Punch (or Crop-a-dile™)
  • Potting Soil
  • Plant
 

Project Instructions

Step 1 Tear newspaper (or magazines, etc.) into 1" to 2" pieces.

Step 2 Using the image as a guide, cut the container apart to resemble a planter.

Step 3 Apply Mod Podge® to newspaper (or magazines, etc.) pieces and cover entire container. Stripes will overlap for full coverage. Let dry.

Step 4 Wrap handle with jute.

Step 5 Punch hole around rim and thread jute in and out of holes.

Step 6 Add tag as desired, using recycled paper (scrapbook, plain, newspaper, magazines, etc.).

Step 7 Fill with potting soil and desired plant.
