Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut all wires to size.

Step 2 Lay wires out in this order: (1) 22 ga wire, (1) 20 ga. wire and (1) 22 ga. wire.

Step 3 Tape wires together, keeping them flat and in same order.

Step 4 Use Beadalon® chain nose pliers to make a small hook on bottom of 26 ga wire, (about ¼" from end).

Step 5 Find center of wire bundle and place 26 ga. hook at that location.

Step 6 Begin to wrap the 26 ga. wire around the bundle, four times. Be careful not to change the position of the wires in the bundle. Wraps should be taut and touching.

Step 7 Use Beadalon® chain nose pliers to tamp down binding wraps and trim excess wire.

Step 8 About ½" from the center binding, repeat Steps 6 and 7, but wrap only three times. NOTE: wire cuts, (ends), should be on same side with each binding.

Step 9 Repeat with other side. You should now have three bindings.

Step 10 Form the wire around the heart.

Step 11 Where wires meet at the top, bend upward.

Step 12 Make another hook on your 26 ga. wire.

Step 13 Pull wires, (at top of pendant), together and wrap with 26 ga. wire. Start closest to the pendant and work away from pendant. Make six wraps. DO NOT CUT THE 26 ga. WIRE.

Step 14 Keeping wires on correct sides, separate (keeping the 20 ga. wires straight up -- this will be for your pendant bale).

Step 15 Use smaller side of baler and form a double bale at top, using the (two) center 20 ga. wires. This will be the back of your pendant.

Step 16 Trim ends of 20 ga. wires so they are even with the top of your design.

Step 17 Use your Beadalon® round nose pliers and make a slight bend on ends.

Step 18 Using remaining 26 ga. binding wire, wrap around bale six times to secure. DO NOT CUT THE 26 ga. WIRE.

Step 19 Turn design face down so the bale ends are closest to you. Use Beadalon® chain nose pliers and begin to gently pull wires (between each binding) toward the center, forming a cage. Repeat at all four positions.

Step 20 Turn design over so front is on top.

Step 21 Pop heart into the design.

Step 22 Use chain nose pliers and repeat Step 19. Pull one wire at a time.

Step 23 Repeat between all bindings. Your heart should now be secured in place.

Step 24 Slide an onyx marquise-shaped stone onto one of the 22 ga. wires. The onyx should be slightly tilted outward and touching the side of the bale.

Step 25 Using Beadalon® round nose pliers, make small loop at end of wire.

Step 26 Using Beadalon® chain nose pliers, begin to roll the wire toward the onyx-like stone, forming a swirl. Position the swirl on top of the onyx stone.

Step 27 Repeat Steps 24 through 26 with second wire.

Step 28 Repeats Steps 24-26 with two wires on opposite side.

Step 29 Using remaining 26 ga. wire, randomly wrap it around the ends of the onyx stone. This will secure it in place. Continue wrapping all four stones, without cutting the 26 ga. wire. If you do not have enough 26 ga. wire, simply cut another 12" piece and work it into the design and wrap remaining onyx stones.

Step 30 Run hand over ends to ensure there are no sharp edges. If there are, use round nose pliers to tuck them in.
