Instructions
Note: When working ribbing, sl st loosely and do not ch at beg of rows.
Ch 41 loosely.
1st row: 1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sl st in each of next 29 ch. Turn. Leave rem 10 ch unworked. 30 sl st.
2nd row: Working in back loops only, 1 sl st in each sl st across. Turn.
3rd row: Working in back loops only, ?1 sl st in each of next 30 sl st. 1 sl st in each unworked ch, 2 rows below. Turn. 40 sl st.
4th row: As 2nd row.
5th row: Working in back loops only, 1 sl st in each of next 30 sl st. Turn. Leave rem 10 sts unworked. 30 sl st.
6th row: As 2nd row.
Rep 3rd to 6th rows until work from beg measures 17" (43cm) ending on a 4th or 6th row.
Join back seam: Working in back loops only, sl st last row and rem loops of foundation ch tog. Fasten off, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through row ends at top of Hat.
