Project Instructions

Seal the frame with DecoArt All Purpose Sealer. When dry, sand smooth, then wipe sanding dust away with a soft cloth.

Basecoat the frame Snow White. When dry, paint the frame Baby Pink.

Paint the edge of the frame Royal Fuchsia.

Dip a natural sponge in water, then squeeze out most of the water. Dip sponge in Snow White paint, then pounce sponge on a paper plate to remove excess paint.

Lightly sponge the frame with Snow White. When dry, shade the frame edge with Royal Fuchsia.

When dry, lightly sponge the around the heart opening with Hauser Light Green.

Use a liner brush and Hauser Green to random paint vines and tendrils around the heart.

To paint the roses (see Strokes for Rose Worksheet): Double load a #8 flat brush with Snow White and Royal Fuchsia. Blend paint on brush with a couple of strokes, then paint a “C” to make the upper rosebud.

Repeat loading and blending, and then paint a reverse “C” stroke to create the bottom of the rosebud (see Strokes for Rose Worksheet).

Reload brush, then without blending, add a side-stroke petal to each side of the rosebud (see Strokes for Rose Worksheet).

Repeat rosebuds around the heart opening, alternating baseline of buds.

To make leaves, load a #3 round brush with Hauser Light Green, then tip with Pistachio Mint.

Press tip of brush onto surface, then quickly pull and lift brush from surface. Repeat procedure, adding several leaves near each rosebud.

Dip the round brush handle in Wild Orchid. Dip dot 5 small dot circle flowers among roses. When dry, add a Light Yellow dip dot to flower center.

Add more flowers or leaves as needed: see photo of completed flower groups on frame.

Tips

Use the handle of the round brush to dip dot Wild Orchid flowers among the roses.
