Project Instructions

Paint the box Snow White.

Paint the box lid Baby Pink.

Paint the lid edge Pistachio Mint.

Apply Magic Tape or masking tape to create stripe areas on box. Paint stripes with Bubblegum Pink. Shade stripes with Royal Fuchsia.

Sponge edge of lid with Hauser Light Green.

Shade top edge of lid with Royal Fuchsia.

Using the liner brush, paint “wavy” vine lines around lid.

Double load #12 flat shader brush with Snow White and Royal Fuchsia.

Stroke brush several times in the same place with moderate pressure to blend paint into brush.

Paint a “C” stroke with the brush for the top of the rose. (See “Strokes for Rose” worksheet for more detail.)

Paint a “C” stroke under the first stroke to create the rosebud.

Add a sidestroke petal to the left side of the rosebud, then add a sidestroke petal to the right side of the rosebud.

Load the #1 round brush with Hauser Light Green. Tip the brush with Pistachio Mint.

To make leaf, press loaded brush down on surface, then quickly stroke while lifting brush from surface. Add leaves randomly around roses and along vine.

Dot brush in Wild Orchid, and then make 5 dot flowers among roses. Dot the center of the dot flowers with Bright Yellow.

Details of Flower Group are shown in photo. Add additional leaves and flowers as needed.

When flowers are thoroughly dry, glue the white doily on the lid. Glue a paper rose to the center of the doily.

Optional: Paint inside of box desired color, or line box with decorative paper.
